Don't know if this will be able to top the orginal remake. That's one of my favorite horror movies.
This just doesn't have the same affect as the original.

I'm not personally a fan of unbeatable evils in stories, Why should I ever care about characters if they're going to die no matter what. Harold: Opens door. Also Harold: “This White Castle must be under renovations”. Movie Watch The grunge. Now this one's hella way of horror. This will be the worst yet. Why remake a masterpiece with characters that bring no authenticity to the movie. If Robert Englund is not Freddy than leave it alone. This looks like garbage and I won't even watch it until Rober Englund is brought back. That is like using another actor for CandyMan which would suck just like this movie. He doesn't even sound like Freddy and they probably screwed up the storyline. Just another failed movie of the series. I remember seeing one of the trailers when I was a kid. I was absolutely terrified to sleep under a blanket seeing the Grudge pull a lady from under the blanket.

In conclusion, poor script, nothing's scary at all (even the boring jumpscare) I heard the actors and actresses is good but nothing's shown much. Not only do I have her tattooed on me but this is coming out on my wifes bday.

I consider myself a very avid movie-goer, and an extremely lenient critic. Im all for a bad (horror) movie(s) but this was unbearble. I have literally never walked out on a movie before in my life, but this was too much. The film was not even comedic bad, just unenjoyable bad. The only thing that hit me at the end of every scene was frustration, not suspense, thrill, and at the very least horror. If I had any part in the last grudge movie, I would sue for defamation. Im sorry, not sorry.
Going in cinema with excitement and going home with full of disappointment. 1:56 I think they messed up a bit with those sound effects :D. I was so high when I was watching it that I didnt know what was going on but at the same time when there was a jump scare it was always scary. That was Teresa palmer. That little rascal Toshio 😂. 1/ The timeline messed up: it keeps going from present to past, and then another past, and then present, and then another past. I don't get anything until 2/3 the film. And all that timeline doesn't have a strong connect to each others. Me watching the first 13 minutes of the video: Im not scared because shes in Japan and Im in Chicago, Illinois Me after the part he mentions that the curse moved to Chicago, Illinois: SHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHIT.
This movie is awful. It's already out here in Portugal and I watched it yesterday. It's totally derivative from the 2004 film, it even copies the messed up timeline from the original movie. It has no impact, there's not an ounce of creativity, it's not even entertaining. The characters suck, and what is John Cho doing in this? After Searching, The Exorcist and Twilight Zone, how can he star in such a bad movie? And I'm done with Lin Shaye. She gained popularity with her role in Insidious but every other movie that I've seen her in is absolutely terrible. The Grudge 2020 is a complete disaster, it's such a horrible mess. You'll find yourself gaping at the screen in horror for having spent your hard-earned money in this crap once the movie ends abruptly and the credits start rolling.
